As a true Windows® application, POS-Success will easily operate on any of today’s workstations with the Windows® XP operating system. Our preferred workstation OS is the XP-Pro version, but POS-Success works equally well on the XP-Home edition or Windows 2000. Memory (RAM) is a performance factor, the more RAM the better a workstation will function. We recommend at least 512MB.

Here's What You Need to Use Windows® XP Professional

• PC with 300 megahertz or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233 MHz minimum required (single or dual processor system);* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, or AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended
• 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features)
• 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available hard disk space*
• Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher-resolution video adapter and monitor
• CD-ROM or DVD drive
• Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device

For Windows® Networks, again, any server configured for Windows® Server 2000 or Windows® Server 2003 will run POS-Success. Again, the more RAM the better the performance, 2GB of RAM for every 10 workstations is a good rule of thumb. The database for the standard POS-Success is Microsoft® Visual FoxPro, requiring no server side engine installation. There is an optional Microsoft® SQL version of POS-Success that would require installation and licensing of MS-SQL®. Hard disk usage is highly efficient, utilizing an average 100MB of hard disk for every 1,000 patients.
